Sealed Valve Regulated (SVR)
Gelled Electrolyte and
Absorbed Electrolyte Batteries.
Everything you wanted to know...
But were afraid to ask.
Question:
If an application is outside, with temperature fluctuations,
what is a safe charge rate or voltage setting, if a temperature
sensing charger is not available?
Answer:
NONE! Charging voltage varies widely with temperature.
There is no one fixed voltage setting that will work.
Likewise, there is no one fixed current that will work.
A temperature sensing, voltage regulated charger must be used. Anything else will damage
the battery.
